Family Housing
Lonco Parque, Chiguyante – CHILE
The breathtaking panoramic view from the site over river Bío-Bío, traced the large pattern of the conception for this house, the visual vector of the permanence enclosures was set beforehand. We wanted to resolve a construction where the spatial and formal reflections were “restricted” by a systematic structure. Working simultaneously with structural engineer was a necessary and parallel admixture.
We seek to establish a cubic modulation measurement in 3 dimensions, where the magnitude of each complex was confined to the repetition of it, according to traditional floor housing. This reference to “normal” housing allowed us to have a common and familiar language with the owners, at the same time to make sure of obtaining measurements for each enclosure where everyday acts might occur at user level, in clear contrast to dilated views over the landscape.
